'Caffeine hit' a miss?

British researchers claim the caffeine ‘fix’ that many coffee-drinkers seek may be psychological.

Study subjects drank either decaffeinated or caffeinated coffee but all were told their drink contained caffeine. The volunteers who drank decaf actually reported a greater improvement in mood than those who consumed caffeine — and both groups improved in performance tests.
