Buying and storing

When you select celery, go for fresh, firm stems which snap crisply. Store celery in a plastic bag in the fridge.

Using celery

Celery is extremely versatile:

  • Welcome as a canapé with tzatziki.
  • Great added to soups or casseroles.
  • Try a celery gratin made with sautéed slices layered in a dish with onions, breadcrumbs, walnuts and a little cheese.

Did you know? Celery was first used in Italy in the Middle Ages.
